Jackson Square is a shining example of how tactical urbanism can transform underutilized space into a vibrant community anchor. Once a simple pass-through parking area, this space has been reimagined as multi-functional public plaza.
By upgrading the infrastructure with historic-style lighting, professional landscaping, and high-quality paving, the BDC has created a “living room” for the city. Today, it serves as a year-round venue for the Jackson Square Concert Series, farmers’ markets, and seasonal festivals. This Project didn’t just beautify the corridor; it catalyzed private investment in the surrounding historic buildings, proving that when we invest in public spaces, the entire downtown thrives.
